If you do single image conversion, then your photos will turn out just fine. That said, all the photos will turn out rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise. To do this, all you have to do is select a bunch of HEIC photos, right-click, and then you’ll see the “Convert with CopyTrans” option. You may also appreciate the batch image conversion support. This can't be hard, but I cannot find the info.By adding the CopyTrans HEIC plugin, you can then open HEIC photos and view them, or convert them to a JPEG format if you want to. How are the apps in the store able to be created? So the question is how does one enable HEIF/HEIC access to the WIC API and handle the image as any other legacy file formats? If there are examples out there, please point the way as I am finding nothing on the entire net. This occurs even though I have installed the HEIF/HEIC codec extension and am able to view ".heic" files in the photo viewer application. So far ".heic" is not recognized as having a valid codec by ImageCodeInfo.GetImageDecoders. Using C# on VS2019, I am trying to access the metadata associated with some HEIC files from an Apple iPhone.

If anyone has any advice I am happy to learn. I amazed at the dearth of information to be found. If anyone knows where it should go please let me know.ģ: HEIC/HEIF is a mysterious black box and no one is doing anything to support it. At this point I want to accessĢ: This question was posted in the wrong area, if so, again, I apologize. I'm simply trying to open an HEIC/HEIF image file that was created on an iPhone using C# using the functionality provided in the ImageCodeInfo interface. As there is no reply from anyone, I will assume one of three possibilities:ġ: My question is unclear, if that is the case, I apologize.
